Have you been in ASB before — what roles?
“Yes, I have been in ASB for the past six years through both ASB and student council [in elementary and middle school]. During that time, I’ve helped plan school events, work with other student leaders and contribute ideas to make school activities more engaging for everyone.”
Why are you running for this role?
“I’m running for this role because I’m really passionate about being involved in our school community and helping make our sophomore year as fun and memorable as possible. I love working with others to create events and traditions that bring people together.”
What experience do you have leadership-wise?
“Leadership-wise, I have experience from being in ASB for many years, where I’ve helped organize events and collaborate with teams. I’m also on both the indoor and beach volleyball teams [at the school], which has taught me a lot about teamwork, communication and leading by example.”
What's your vision for the school or position?
“My vision for this position is to help create a school environment where everyone feels included and excited to participate. I want to help bring positive energy to our class and continue bringing a strong school spirit.”
What do you want to accomplish?
“One of the main things I want to accomplish is creating a more inclusive school community where everyone feels like they belong and has opportunities to get involved in events and activities.”
Why would you want students to vote for you?
“If I were a voter, I would want to vote for someone who is experienced, dedicated and truly cares about making the school better for everyone. I would hope students would vote for me because I’m committed to putting in the work and representing our class in the best way possible.”

Have you been in ASB before — what roles?
“I've been in ASB before. I was in ASB at a middle school, at Pacific Trails in seventh and eighth grade. Both years, I was in the Spirit Committee and I was the Spirit Committee Chair. So when we would have our committee meetings or when we would plan events, I would be the one to lead our team in planning the events together. Also, I would like to take on the most responsibilities of everyone in my group when planning our spirit days and events.”
Why are you running for this role?
“I'm running for Sophomore Class President because I really love Torrey Pines and I care about the school a lot. I want sophomore year to be the best it can be and I feel like I want to be someone that people can depend on whether that's someone to go to or just, like, a friendly face. In general, I really want to be, like, that kind of leader. Sophomore President is a great way to express this role because I feel like I can hear a lot of different people's ideas and important values and I can contribute these two things … as a Sophomore Class President [as well as] things … to help improve our school.”
What experience do you have leadership-wise?
“I have a lot of different leadership experiences. Ever since I was younger, I have been volunteering at many different food banks and other places around San Diego. A couple years ago I started my own nonprofit with my friend called Dancers with Heart. This year I served as vice president and the upcoming year, as a sophomore, I'll be serving as president [of the nonprofit]. We teach kids with disabilities how to dance, we spend time with them and we are … friend[s] to them because they might not always be able to establish that relationship [on their own]. I also was on the Torrey Pines Dance Team this year, and I was one of the captains which gave me a lot of experience on how to build a strong and connected team where we can all get along and do our best together successfully.”
What's your vision for the school or position?
“My vision for the school is for it to be a place where everyone feels loved and included. I know we have many different cultures and interests on campus, and I would hope that each and every person feels like they are being cared about. I also hope we have some sort of event or something to honor them and what they believe in and their interests so everyone feels like they belong as a part of our school community.”
What do you want to accomplish?
“What I want to accomplish is just for everyone to be happy and loved at Torrey Pines. I just think I can do that by making sure to do my best as sophomore president, by always making sure other people's ideas are heard and valued. Then I can do my best to contribute these back to ASB where we can do everything in our power to improve our school to make it the best environment for everyone.”
Why would you want students to vote for you?
“I would want students to vote for me because I'm very positive and I'm spirited and I really care about the school. I'm dedicated to this role and I think I could do a really great job at it. I would love the support from the sophomore class and get votes so I can make sure to make this year the best one yet. I promise to do everything I can to make every single student in the sophomore class happy, included and loved on campus.”

Have you been in ASB before — what roles?
“I have been in ASB before. This year I was Freshman Class President, and honestly it’s been such an amazing opportunity to really connect with not just the ASB class but the entire freshman class as well.”
Why are you running for this role?
“I’m running for this role not just because I was Freshman Class President this year, but also because I want to make sophomore year a year that everyone remembers. I care a lot about making sure that my class feels excited and included about what is happening at school.”
What experience do you have leadership-wise?
“Leadership-wise I have quite a bit of experience. I’ve worked as a camp counselor and volunteer often, which has helped me learn how to communicate with and support a lot of different people. I’ve also been in leadership roles since elementary school and have had many opportunities to practice public speaking.”
What's your vision for the school or position?
“Honestly my vision for the school isn’t huge. It is really about building trust and connection between students. I want people to feel comfortable sharing their ideas … like they are a part of something positive. To me, the most important thing is creating an environment where everyone feels connected and supported.”
What do you want to accomplish?
“What I really want to accomplish is helping create a sophomore year that people genuinely enjoy and remember. I think sometimes students can sometimes feel disconnected from events or decisions, so I want to make things feel more inclusive and exciting for everyone.”
Why would you want students to vote for you?
“If I were a voter, I would want to vote for someone who truly listens. Something that is really important to me is making sure everyone’s ideas and voices are heard. I want students to feel like they matter and that their input helps shape our year. My goal isn’t to make sophomore year amazing on my own. It’s to make it amazing together as a class.”
