About the Contributors

Joanne Liu, Opinion Editor
With a pack of gum and her trusty airpods in hand, Joanne Liu is ready to survive the most notoriously grueling school year of them all: junior year. Liu aims to highlight a wide range of student voices and ignite the creativity of journalistic writing in every story during her second year on the Falconer. On top of writing, Liu loves to read about others’ insights and perspectives, so being the Falconer’s Opinion Editor is just the role for that. Outside of the newsroom, Liu is a competitive figure skater, graphic designer for the TPHS Biology Olympiad Club and proud owner of two cats. At home during her spare time, she can be found playing with her cats, watching YouTube, listening to music, drawing or scrolling through Pinterest for all sorts of inspiration, from art to fashion to aesthetic room decor.

Outside of the newsroom, Jessie is a dedicated figure skater and a proud owner of a mini goldendoodle named Daisy. She is also the secretary of the school’s Biomimicry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship club and volunteers with the nonprofit Food Effect whose goal is to make nutritious meals available to everyone.
