Jack Bottini’s (12) dedication and leadership on the field earned him a second Athlete of the Month title. As a starting forward and captain of the boys varsity soccer team (8-12-3, Bottini’s hard work has not only propelled the team but also solidified his respect among teammates and coaches alike.
“A lot went into getting this award,” Bottini said. “Just practicing every day, putting in the work everyday and more practice.”
With 13 years of competitive soccer experience, he currently plays for San Diego Surf. His extensive background in competitive soccer has not only honed his technical skills, but also shaped him into the dedicated athlete he is today.
“Jack helps to lead team talks and inspire the team to play to their best ability,” midfielder Max Sipes (12) said. “He never fails to have inspirational pregame speeches that make everyone ready and hyped for the games.”
His ability to motivate others, before and during games, is a testament to the team’s success. Despite a tough league season, the boys varsity soccer team still qualified for the Open Division CIF playoffs.

“His favorite quote is the four P’s: passion, perseverance, positivity and patience,” Sipes said.
Bottini’s positive attitude and support for his teammates creates a dynamic atmosphere that lifts team morale.
“Jack never fails to unite the team before games, during practices and off the field as well,” Sipes said.
Bottini overcame an injury this season, yet his determination ensured he still had a strong senior season. Even from the bench, Bottini cheered on his teammates and encouraged them to play their best.
“I had an injury this year, which was difficult, but you kinda just have to trust the process and just keep putting in the work every day,” Bottini said.
Throughout his soccer career, Bottini achieved remarkable feats, including back-to-back Elite Clubs National League Championship in 2023 and 2024. Now looking at the feature, Bottini hopes to further his academic and soccer career with hopes to commit to a college in the coming months.
“I think Jack is very deserving of this award because he is just an overall great athlete and captain, and has changed the dynamic of this team for the better,” Sipes said.
