In an effortless finish on Wednesday night, the girls varsity basketball team (18-7) achieved a breathless 69-21 victory against the Sage Creek Bobcats (6-17).
The Falcons came off with a fiery passion and drive, racking up points with composure and ease. The game picked up for the Falcons and they held a strong lead throughout the entirety of the game.
Roma Panchal (12), point guard, leading the Falcons in points across the board, closing off the night with 12 points.
“We came out strong and held a lot of strong energy,” Panchal said.

Kelley reflected on her team’s attitude during the game.
“We had a lot of composure,” Kelley said. “We shot and passed well. I think we had a very strong start and came out with a lot of energy.”
Throughout the game, the Falcons remained calm and held a strong strategy from quarter to quarter, switching from different offensive techniques and zones.
“We used this opportunity where we were leading by a lot to practice different zones and closing on threes and rebounding,” Scott Herrin, girls varsity basketball head coach, said. “It is really good to have everyone play and be able to make a lot of rotations.”
Herrin expresses his satisfaction with the result of the game.
“It is very rare for a coach to say they are complete,” Herrin said. “Tonight, we shot well, rebounded well and played some great defense.”
At the end of the first quarter with a score of 22-8, Kelley hit her career record, 500 rebounds.
Bombarded by her enthusiastic team, family, and bright balloons, Kelley was shocked.

“I hit 500 rebounds,” Kelley said. “It was very exciting. I did not know I was so close.”
Herrin applauded Kelley for her hard work on the court.
“Harper models the behavior on the court that I preach, it is a great message to the team and always a joy to plan,” Herrin said.
As the CIF Division I playoffs approach, the Falcons are maintaining high enthusiasm and are currently leading second place in their league with six wins and only one loss
“I think the game helped our record and moved us up in the league, preparing us for our game on Friday against Oceanside,” Kelley said.
Points scored, achievements made, and many smiles leaving the court, the Falcons are continuing through their season strong and with much spirit.
“During tonight’s game, we played really well as a team,” Panchal said. “We came out with a lot of energy and today was a good team win to build our confidence overall.”
