Walking into Morning Lavender feels like entering a fairy tale dream, the entrance and walls are adorned with whimsical flowers in shades of pink and purple that look like they are straight from a Disney film. Incorporating both a boutique and a cafe with the same floral, delicate and storybook-like aesthetic, Morning Lavender is perfect for enjoying a beautifully made drink before doing some mother-daughter shopping. Both the cafe and boutique are pet friendly and wheelchair accessible, making Morning Lavender a truly inclusive experience.
The cafe itself was charming, filled with a mix of children and adults enjoying a variety of unique homemade drinks and treats. The menu features an extensive selection of sips, from a refreshing Iced Rose Matcha for ($7) to a Hot Lavender Latte ($7) perfect for chilly winter mornings. In addition to drinks, I found myself impressed by the variety of pastries, complete with vegan, gluten-free and nut-free options. I ordered the Chocolate Croissant ($6), and it did not disappoint, warmed to perfection with just the right amount of chocolate goodness in the center.

Of course, there was no resisting the imaginative layered drinks, and I ordered both a Lavender Lemonade ($4) and a seasonal Iced Strawberry Chai ($7). The customer service was impressive, as all the employees were attentive and held sincere smiles while greeting customers. My drink came within minutes and the presentation was on point. The plates and teacups in the shop follow the same floral aesthetic with gold-rimmed edges, resembling dishes from a fantastical tea party.
The Lavender Lemonade was a delicious mix of perfectly balanced sweet and tangy lemonade with a light lavender flavoring; the drink’s clear-to-purple ombré making it even more charming. As for the seasonal Iced Strawberry Chai, I found the chai to be just sweet enough without being bitter, making the flavor neither overpowering nor lacking. The strawberry foam is a pleasant addition, and the freeze dried strawberries on top are a nice finishing touch. In the cafe, cute gifts like pink mugs with heart shaped handles and elegantly packaged tea are available for purchase — a perfect gift for the coffee, tea or matcha enthusiasts. As I enjoyed my drink, it was hard to ignore the cheerful atmosphere, the drinks’ colors just as vibrant as the attitude of those in the cafe.
In addition to seating, the cafe itself was also connected to another smaller and easy to access room that can be rented out for tea parties, complete with assorted pastries and stylish teapots. Morning Lavender also hosts themed events, such as the upcoming Aurora themed Tea For Tots event on May 29.
What truly elevated my visit was the ability to shop at the boutique next door, as it made the experience feel a lot more unique. Inside, racks were filled with beautiful flowy dresses in multiple styles, in sync with the summer, playful and youthful aesthetic. The boutique also carried soft cardigans in multiple patterns, as well as cute tops and adorable skirts. Beyond clothes for adult customers, the shop featured matching mommy and me sets, as well as baby clothes. There were also toys and an assortment of accessories including jewelry, claw clips and even self-care products.
Morning Lavender might just become my new go-to coffee shop, and I highly encourage basking in both the delicious treats and tranquil moments the cafe and boutique have to offer.
